Still Dre はDr. Dreの1999年発表アルバム「2001」に収録されている歴史的クラシックです。
2020年今年、Wiz Khalifaが同トラックで”Still Wiz”を発表したので、リリックを比較できるようにオリジナルのこちらも和訳しました。

9-5 plus four pennies：95＋4＝99 ぺニーズは「ほんのわずか」や「1セント銅貨」を表す言葉なので「特に意味はない」 次に続くのが”add that shit up”なので1999年にリリースした曲 という意味になるようです。
no seeds, no stems, no sticks：種、茎ではハイになれない。sticksも茎と同義
感想
まず、この曲が1999年リリースだったことに驚きました。
99年といえば私このころ11歳、小5とかなんですが確かその一年後、小6にHIPHOPと出会うんですよね。
その一年前に出ていた曲ならなんですぐに出会わなかったんだろうって不思議な気持ちです。たぶん、この曲を知ったのって、高校生の時に初めてクラブに遊びに行った時だったとおもうんですが。リリースから時間たちすぎ～。
なので、勝手にもっと前のクラシックだと思っていました。
歌詞中には「エミネムと契約した」「あいつは50週チャート入り」って”The Slim Shady LP”の事も出てきてるのにも驚きました。
あの頃の私にエミネム聞くならドレーも聞きなさいと言ってあげたい。
リリックすごいいいですね～今も昔も変わらずビートを作って自分の生まれ故郷を愛してるドレーの気持ちがストレートで。
最後のスヌープのアウトロがオリジナルすぎて笑いました。95＋4で99年とか言い回し独特すぎデショ。
